Trip Planning & Costs

Most of the cost of a Komodo snorkeling trip is the boat; nearly everything else is arithmetic you can do before you leave home. The park charges foreign visitors a flat IDR 250,000 entrance fee under Government Regulation 36/2024 — the same on a Tuesday as on a public holiday — plus a ranger fee of roughly IDR 150,000 per group of one to five. There is no separate snorkeling permit. Where budgets actually diverge is boat class and trip length: a shared speedboat day trip, a private charter and a multi-day phinisi are three different products, not three price points for the same one. These guides break down what is included at each level, which extras appear at the harbour, how deposits and cancellation windows usually work, and how far ahead to book for July and August, when demand and airfares peak together.
